GM designed the front diff such that it hangs considerablly lower than the front cross member and makes it suseptable to damage when wheeling/ offroading. It hangs even lower with a diff drop included in our lift kit. The sheet metal diff cover can get damaged and pinch the gasket and cause the fluid to leak.
Options include the Front Differential , i4-i5 AAM800 axle, and V8 AAM860 axle for the 04-12 model years.
These rings will protect the diff from damage If you wish can paint it to match your truck for an added touch of style.
This kit comes with ring and new mounting hardware.
We recommend servicing the front diff while you are installing even though installation can be done without.
